Patent Leather is susceptible to scuffs and sticky stuff. We recommend a few techniques in caring for patent leather:

Try a basic pencil eraser to eliminate the scuff. Dab a microfiber cloth or soft rag in mineral oil (Vaseline is also a good substitute) and rub directly on scuffed area. Leave oil on for about 15 minutes, then wipe off with dry cloth/rag completely. You can also try a mild soap and water, but use the water very sparingly. Avoid harsh chemicals that can discolor the patent leather or liquid-like polishes that will not absorb into the material.
